Johnnie Clarence McDuffie was born to his beloved parents, Clarence and Arminda Mildred Grace McDuffie, on May 26, 1957, in Fort Pierce, Florida. Fort Pierce is also where Johnnie was raised and matriculated through the St. Lucie County school system. Upon graduation, Johnnie would have several jobs that would lead to careers such as a lifeguard at the 13th Street Pool, a welder, a truck driver, and a cook.
Johnnie's love for cooking and making people happy would later lead him to lend his hand at self-employment, where he would go on to own a seafood restaurant and a truck driving business. Before his health's decline, Johnnie would retire as a long-distance truck driver.
Johnnie was a man who loved and celebrated all of life. He loved animals, people, nature, the ocean, and most of all, his family. Johnnie loved celebrating his family by cooking at his home and inviting everybody over. Seeing his family together was something that always brought him joy.
On July 14, 2024, Johnnie was prepared to answer his Savior's call as he peacefully transitioned from earth to glory. He was preceded in death by his life partner, Carolyn Richardson; loving parents, Clarence and Arminda Mildred Grace.
McDuffie; grandparents, Charlie and Elizabeth McDuffie andGeorge and Fannie Walker; aunts, Clara Belle Thomas, Julia Montgomery, Curtis Stewart, Annie Ward, Malita Jackson, Fannie Ayers, Betty Jean Hodges, Elsie Walker, and Evelyn Pace; uncles, Charlie Mae McDuffie, Cleveland Walker, and Everage Walker; and brother, Clarence McDuffie, Jr.
He leaves to mourn: his children, Zeobia Richardson, Bernadine and Antron Starks, and Jermaine Brewer; grandchildren, Della, Anthony, and Jerimiah Pearson, Ernesia, Yolanda, and Quytaeja Frazier, Kimbria Warren, and Antranesha, Antron, and Joshua Starks; great-grandsons, Aiden, Zion, and Messiah Pearson; great-granddaughters, Nevaeh, Allaya, and Layla Starks, Brielle Lorena, and Miss Chassidy; sisters, Sandra L. Taylor, Edna L. Woodard, Crystal D. Smith, Doris L. Kennedy (Wayne Kennedy), Sharon McDuffie Brown (Dr.
Andrew Brown), and Julius McDuffie (brother); brother-in- love, Leroy Williams; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
Johnnie never met a stranger, and he lived by Jesus' words, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." When his words could yet still be heard, he silenced his love one's tears by saying, "Don't cry for me, because I have lived a really good life."
