Johnnie Edgar Springer, age 77, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 7:16 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Cox South Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri. He was born on August 4, 1948, in Hurley, Missouri, the son of Edgar Allen and Ole Muriel (Morris) Springer.
Johnnie was a 1966 graduate of Marionville High School in Marionville, Missouri. He worked for 3M Corporation in Springfield, Missouri for 34 years. He enjoyed working on old cars and racing. He was also a member of the First Chrisitan Church in Marionville. Johnnie was untied in marriage on June 15, 1968, to Garilyn Haacker in Aurora, Missouri.
Johnnie is survived by his wife of 57 years, Garilyn; one son, Scott Springer and his wife, Renee, of Billings, Missouri; two grandsons, Calin Springer of Republic, Missouri and Carson Springer of Billings, Missouri; one brother, Gary Springer and his wife, Jean, of Crane, Missouri; three sisters, Jenny Wilson of Shell Knob, Missouri, Margo Stine of Aurora, Missouri and Janice Maples and her husband, R.L. of Crane, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Romona Springer of Monett, Missouri and Dapine Pennington of Verona, Missouri along with several nieces and nephews.
Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar, and Muriel; one brother, Kenneth Springer; two sisters, Mary Ann Wood and her husband, Roy, and Cathy Elliott and her husband, Miles, and three brothers-in-law, Jerry Stine, John Wilson, and David Pennington.
No services are planned currently. Arrangements are under the direction of Williams Funeral Home.
