Robin Suneson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Williams Funeral Home - Marionville on Dec. 10, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robin Suneson, age 69, of Marionville, Missouri. Rob passed away peacefully at 5:55 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Aurora, Missouri. He was surrounded by his wife, Nancy; his sons, Joe, and Steven; his daughter-in-law, Shannon; and his grandson, Kolton.
Born on November 8, 1956, in Muskegon, Michigan, Rob was the son of Leighton and Alice Suneson. He graduated from Corona High School in California and soon after proudly joined the United States Navy. During his service, he was assigned as a crew member aboard the USS Darter.
Following his military service, Rob began a long and fulfilling career as a truck driver. His work took him across the United States, giving him the opportunity to meet countless people, something he genuinely loved. Rob truly knew no stranger. His ability to strike up a conversation, offer a kind word, and make others feel welcome, became one of his most defining qualities.
Rob will be remembered for his generous spirit, warm humor, and the joy he brought into every room. He was a loving husband, a devoted dad and stepdad, and a fun, deeply cherished Papa. He loved fishing, gardening, and simply talking with new friends wherever life happened to take him.
Rob was preceded in death by his parents, Leighton, and Alice; one sister; and four brothers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Nancy; his four sons, Joe, Steven, Dewayne, and Denny; ten grandchildren, two sisters, and two brothers. His memory will continue to live on in the family he loved so deeply.
A graveside service will be held later at a to-be-determined Veterans cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Williams Funeral Home in Marionville, Missouri.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the dear friends who helped them throughout this journey. A very special thank you goes to the Springfield Veterans Clinic and the Aurora Mercy Hospital staff and doctors. Your care, compassion, and kindness made this difficult time as comfortable as possible for Rob and for those by his side. You are deeply appreciated.
