Johnny was born on October 27, 1945, to Ervin Briggs and Margie Maxine Dodson in Point, Texas. He passed on June 7, 2022, in Mount Pleasant, Texas. He Served in the US Army during Vietnam and retired from Texas Instruments to care for his parents.
Dad passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. He fought a great fight against dementia, forgetting most everything except family. He loved us by name till the end.
If you knew dad, then you know he loved his family and fishing but most importantly he chose to love the Lord. He would sit with his daughter in law and study the scriptures to have a better understanding.
The best daddy, uncle, and Papa a kid could ask for. Taught us all about character, honor, and integrity. The first to take us hunting and fishing, teach us how to ride a motorcycle, drive a truck. He was never not there for family. If there's a stock tank in Heaven, he's got a tackle bag and 5 rods. Gonna miss you so much down here, dad.
He is survived by his sons, Dustin and wife Nancy Briggs of Point, Kevin and wife Sher Briggs of Tyler; grandchildren, Katie, Kristie, Kaden, Kameron, Kaylee, Tabitha, Kierstin, Breanna; many great grandchildren;
brothers and sisters, Sherry, Penny, Terry, Tammy as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mom and dad.
