Mr. Johnny C. Lloyd, Sr., 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2025. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on January 31, 1935, son of the late Francis Oliver Lloyd and Carrie Kennison Lloyd.
In 1982, after 25 years of service, he retired from St. Regis Paper Mill. He was also a member of the International Association of Machinists. In his younger days, he loved offshore fishing. He was an avid NASCAR fan as far back as the beach races in Daytona, which he attended and especially enjoyed watching Dale Earnhardt race. He was devoted to his wife, Annette, who he loved dearly. In his retirement, he was a faithful attender of the St. Regis Retirees Luncheon, held on the 3rd Thursday of every month at Famous Amos.
Preceded in death by his wife, Annette on February 18, 2008 and his grandsons, Christopher Lloyd and Chad Lang. Surviving family include 4 children: Sharon Fraser (Chris), Johnny Lloyd, Jr., Richard Lang, Jr. (Mary Grace) and Tammy Allen Burch (Joe); 5 grandchildren: Michael Medders (Traci), Christy Homitz (Jimmy), Danielle Lang, Brad Lang and Tony Mazza (Mandy); 9 great grandchildren: Jonah, Daniel, Lee, Kaylyn, Easton, Jacob, Madison, Julianne and Blaine; 1 great-great grandson, Mateo; 2 brothers: Glen Lloyd (Talisha) and Dale Lloyd; a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Dunns Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Dave Malmberg, officiating.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday at the church.
Peeples Family Funeral Home is serving the Lloyd Family.
