Mr. Johnny Massengill 1940 - 2025
Mr. Johnny Massengill, a lifelong resident of Tazewell, TN, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on July 15, 1940. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. John's passion for outdoors was evident through his love for wagon trains.
He was preceded in death by his Parents: Sterling and Bessie Massengill. Sons: Randy and Terry Massengill Grandsons: Aaron Massengill and Braxton Fannon Sons-in-law: Jeff Ford and Earl Daniels Brothers: Lonnie and Frank Massengill Sisters: Bonnie Lanham, Marie Fultz and Nancy Fultz He is survived by his wife of 67 years: Geneva Massengill Sons: Jerry (Andrea) Massengill and Robbie (Angie) Massengill Daughters: Joann Ford, Rita Daniels and Lisa (Jessie) Daniels Brothers: Robert Massengill and Stanley Massengill Sisters: Rethie Price. Lucille Sandefur, Juanita (Bill) Seals and Vivian Fultz. Special Friends: Dr. Carroll Rose and Nathan "Tottie" Massengill 13 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. And a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 4. 2025 from 5PM till 7PM with funeral services to follow at 7PM in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Tim Cosby and Rev. Charlie Longworth officiating. Music will be provided by the Gladson Family Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 1PM in the Bethel Cemetery.
