Johnny Matlock Obituary
Born on February 23, 1988, in New Albany, IN, Johnny was the beloved son of Johnny Matlock Sr. and Dana (Wheeler) Lutz. He attended Jeffersonville High School, graduating with the class of 2007, and later pursued his passion for education at Indiana Tech, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Management.
Johnny's dedication and hard work were evident in his career as a crew member for McDonald's in Sellersburg, IN. On September 24, 2011, he married the love of his life, Beverly (Daly) Matlock. Together, Johnny and Beverly built a home filled with love and warmth in Corydon, IN.
A member of Northside Christian Church in New Albany, IN, Johnny found solace and strength in his faith. He cherished moments spent with his family, engaging in activities such as karate, fishing, and grilling out. Johnny's vibrant spirit and genuine love for his friends and family left a mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Johnny is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Thomas Matlock, Sr., his paternal grandfather, Charles Matlock, and maternal grandparents Todd and Diana Cranmer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Matlock, and their daughters, Arieana and Ezria Matlock. He also leaves behind his mother, Dana Lutz, his brothers, Christopher (Sayda) Matlock, Matthew (Kelli) Mason, his sister, DeAnna (Ryan) Stith, and his paternal grandmother, Linda Cayton. Johnny will be fondly remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 10 am to 1 pm at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey, IN. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm, with burial taking place at Hancock Chapel Cemetery in Depauw, IN.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey, IN, in honor of Johnny's memory.
