Johnny Ray Stocks, age 69, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2024, at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville, NC surrounded by family and friends following a battle with prostate cancer. He was born on January 22, 1955, in Pitt County, NC, and his parents were E.C. Stocks and Jean Moore Stocks.
Johnny graduated from South View Senior High School in 1973. After graduation, he served our country in the 82nd Airborne Division for three years. Following military service, Johnny enjoyed the company of his co-workers where he worked and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 49 years of service.
In his spare time, Johnny spent many hours with his wife creating a beautiful home in Wade, NC. He found much joy fishing and playing golf with his buddies. Quiet time was spent napping in the company of their cats, Missy and Henry. Traditional family recipes were a favorite during holidays with extended family, whereby he will be remembered for his kindness and patience.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Theresa Ann (Tessy) Kapp Stocks, brother, Jay Stocks, sister, Debbie Stocks Morrison, sons, Joseph and John L. Stocks, and grandsons, Jonathan and Silas Stocks.
