Johnny Ward 85, of Kyle, Texas, formerly of San Francisco passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Orchard Park of Kyle. John Thomas Ward was born October 3, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Thomas Edward and Vera Maybell Vickers Ward and was married to the former Patricia Ann Fitzpatrick on January 21, 1967. Johnny retired from the U.S. Postal Service in San Francisco and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He loved music, watching old Western movies, and writing.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia 'Patsy' Ward, who died January 8, 1988 and by a brother, Jim Ward.
John is survived by a daughter, Jenny Augustine of Milford, Michigan; a brother, Phillip Ward (Isabel) of Sturgis, Michigan; a sister-in-law, Pat Ward of Buda, Texas; three nieces, Jerri Berry of Texas, Laurel Ward of Chicago, and Heather McDonald of Nashville; and two nephews, James Ward, Jr. of Maine and Phillip Mac Ward of Michigan.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Worthington Chapel Cemetery in McLean County. Military Honors will be conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post # 5415. Friends may visit with John's family from 9:30 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. Thursday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel.
