COLUMBIA%%A memorial service for Johnny E. Wilson, 72, of Columbia, will be held at 11am Friday in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, officiated by Pastor John Derrick. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30pm Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Mr. Wilson died Monday, March 7, 2005. He was a son of the late John W. and Bessie McClure Wilson. A lifelong resident of Columbia, Mr. Wilson graduated from University High School. He was a mortgage broker for over 35 years and established the first commercial mortgage company in Columbia. Over the years, he was associated with several national mortgage firms including Kislak and First Financial Mortgage Corp. until his retirement in 1994.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his sister Doris W. Hall and her husband L.C. Hall, Jr. (Sonny) of West Columbia. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas E. Wilson (Gene) of Columbia.

Surviving are three daughters and a son, Linda (and Thomas) Bruce of Lexington, Karen (and Elmer) Lott of Greenville, Blake (and Tonya) Wilson of Lexington, and Kelly Wilson Benjamin of Columbia.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, Shane Bruce of Lexington and Travis Bruce of Irmo, Alison Smith Kim of Atlanta, and Allie, Kate and Jack Wilson of Lexington and one great-grandchild, Dean Bruce of Irmo.
