On the evening of Thursday, May 30, 2024, Johnny Parker Wilson, Sr., 77, entered into eternal rest.
Johnny was born on September 6, 1946, in Savannah, Georgia to the late Augustus Wilson and Zola Mae Wilson Peavy. Following his graduation at Northside Highschool, Johnny joined the United States Navy where he served his country with pride and honor. He continued working with the Navy Reserves as well as civil service at Robins Air Force Base as a Logistics Management Specialist. Johnny was given a second chance at living life to the fullest as he beat cancer. He enjoyed the outdoors and competing and running in races. Johnny loved food, collecting things, and listening to music but most of all he enjoyed the time spent with this family. Johnny was a member of Second Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Centerville.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Johnny Parker Wilson, Jr., and Jillian Dawn Atkinson (Christopher); grandchildren, Parker Luke Wilson, Brandon Massie, Jr., Lily Atkinson and Isabella Atkinson; sister, Linda Peavy Sessions (Mike); brother, Tommy Peavy and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral services celebrating Johnny’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2024, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation beginning one hour prior. Following the service, Johnny will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
