Jolene (White) Hollas, 73, of Lorena, Texas, passed away on August 25, 2025. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Lorena Cemetery.
Born in Brazoria County, Texas, to Boyd L. and Mildred (Brantley) White, Jolene later moved to Cameron, Texas, where she caught the eye of her future husband, Harold Hollas. A gifted musician, she loved singing and playing piano; she treasured performing at the World’s Fair in San Antonio. She and Harold married on July 29, 1972, beginning a loving and genuine partnership that endured life’s ups and downs with humor and grace. Together, they eventually settled in Lorena, Texas, where they built a life and raised their three sons.
Professionally, Jolene was a thorough and accurate clerk for multiple companies and was named Employee of the Month on numerous occasions. She also gave her time generously—volunteering at the school and serving at her church.
Faith in God anchored her life. She passed that trust along to her sons through the everyday rhythm of motherhood—library and pool trips in the summer, cheering from the bleachers, and being there in a hundred small ways. Family traditions were her joy, especially Thanksgiving, where she made sure everyone was fed and loved—always with her famous chocolate pies, one for each of her sons.
In later years, her greatest delight was being “Nan” to her grandchildren; her stories centered around them, and she encouraged and believed in each one wholeheartedly.
Jolene is survived by her husband of 53 years, Harold Hollas; sons: Tyson (Amy) Hollas of Argyle, Joseph (Marija) Hollas of Allen, and Timothy (Amanda) Hollas of China Spring; grandchildren: Milady Hollas, Jake Hollas, David Hollas, Vera Hollas, Hailey (Matthew) Pettorini, Chase Weir; greatgrandchild: Hudson Pettorini; and brother, Craig White. She was preceded in death by father, Boyd White, mother, Milred White, and sister, Karen Osborne.
Pallbearers will be Joey Hollas, Tim Hollas, Michael O’Donnell, Milady Hollas, Jake Hollas, Elliot White, Ethan White, Jeremy Osborne.
