Ronald James Hollas, age 69 of
Bedford, OH, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Esther L. Mc Corkle Hollas; loving father of Jonathan (Kelly) Nolte and Michael (Alana) Nolte; cherished grandfather of Olive, Eliot, Imogen, and Holden Nolte; dear brother of Carol (Greg), Debbie (Kevin), and Rebecca (Bob); and a caring uncle of many.
Ron Hollas was a man that loved with all his heart. If you were his friend, you knew it. He helped people, mentored people and he always said he wanted to lead by example. He loved his family so much and his step family know they were his own. They loved him also very much. He was an extremely loving husband that always complimented me in front of others and openly let everyone know how much we loved each other. He favored many restaurants, lots traveling and just going for walks. He was notoriously friendly. Anyone who knows him what a great teacher he was and how very intelligent.
Growing up in East Texas he was an Eagle Scout. He was a single engine pilot. He attended Texas A & M in College majoring in Electrical Engineering. He had a long career of Telecom and Information Technology that sent him overseas for many years. He was always fascinated with airline planes and wanted to design cockpits. He was enamored with space and rocketry. He always has loved travel and started out in Spain. His career took him to the Far East and many other countries where he lived as an Ex-Patriot.
He met his wife Esther in 2003 where they were co- workers. The marriage has always been our priority. He was an excellent partner and my best friend. His heart truly belonged to Jesus who is number one in his life. After many personal struggles, he committed his entire life to Jesus in 2001. His ever- growing faith was strongly evident to all those who really knew him. We know that we miss him terribly but his citizenship is in heaven. He is in the place of no more pain no more tears and no more death. He can't wait to see the rest of us and show us around. He is definitely resting and he has no more hospitals no more suffering. In 2016 we moved here to be near grandchildren in Ohio. It was the best decision ever. He loved our house and worked on it constantly. He fixed everything. He did plumbing, electrical and all of his chores. Of course, his favorite hobby was amateur radio. He found the perfect tree to send an antenna wire up and over for excellent transmission and receiving.
He did many public service hours in volunteering for other organizations and in particular the amateur radio clubs. He was Vice President of the Cuyahoga County Amateur Radio Society. He had several favorite pastimes. One was to mow everybody's yards on his lawn tractor and the other favorite thing was to do outdoor grilling. Visiting his family in Texas, New Jersey and Ohio were very important to him.
We miss you so terribly. You have left a big hole in our hearts, you are irreplaceable. (Esther Mc Corkle Hollas)
