Donald Kimball Brasted Jr., passed away on November 17, 2025, at the age of 90.
Don is survived by his wife Mary (nee Connor); son T.K., daughter-in-law Shelli, granddaughter Harper; sister-in-law Sandra Rulewich; and brothers-in-law Dan and Jim Connor. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews Sara Smedley (Bip), James Brasted (Doris), Tanya Connor, Tasha Connor and Andrew Connor (Rongling) and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James Brasted and sister-in-law Myrna Connor.
Don was born to the late Donald and Louise (nee Titus) Brasted on March 12, 1935, in Ithaca, New York. He grew up in Johnston, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Southmont High School, class of 1953. Don continued his education and attended Penn State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics in 1957. He was programmer in the Computer Services Division of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Lewis Research Center. He retired in 1998 after 41 years of dedicated service.
Don met his future wife Mary at Lakewood Presbyterian Coed Club. They married on June 28, 1969, and enjoyed 56 years of marriage together. They raised T.K. in Bay Village, Ohio. Don enjoyed vacationing in Siesta Key, FL, with his family and considered the town as a second home.
Don was a member of Bay Presbyterian Church and served his community in numerous tangible ways. He was a dedicated member of the Bay Kiwanis Club since 1978, where he served two terms as president and chaired various committees over the years. He also volunteered at the Cleveland Clinic, drove the Bay Village Senior bus, and annually served as a judge at the NE Ohio Science & Engineering Fair. Additionally, he unselfishly donated over 32 pints of blood in support of the NASA Lewis Research Center Blood Bank and the Cleavland Chapter of the
American Red Cross.
Services for Don will be held at Bay Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM. 25415 Lake Rd., Bay Village, Ohio. The family will greet friends in Auburn Hall at the church following the service.
