Linda Garrity
January 27, 2025
It is hard to find the words when someone is taken so young, so suddenly from us. The huge shock and then the realization that Jay is gone- it is just too much.
So many memories come to mind. Whether it was cooking TWO turkeys ( one in the oven, the other in the fryer) at Thanksgiving, the impromptu jam sessions with the boys in the basement at 32 after the Derby parties , manning the grills with Scott at Chisholm Rd block parties and Saville St pool parties, home fried chicken for Linda´s birthday , haddock for Arya's or just quietly watching the kids play on the swings with a smile, Jay was always there.
From a very young age, Dylan loved his boys night "Army" sleep-overs with Uncle Jay during which they would survey the perimeter in camo with flashlights. When he would walk in the room, you would hear shouts of "Uncle Jay, Uncle Jay" from his fan club - Dylan, Maisie, Riley and Gracie.
He loved his family and was so proud of his girls. He loved Roslindale. He loved to share his passion for cooking and different foods. He even shared special recipes- in particular his Cole slaw recipe. I had always hated coleslaw, but I loved Jays. And the boiled dinners! Don´t get me started.
Jen, Emily, Arya ,Louella, Scott, Linda, Heather, Kevin, Kim, Ryan and all the kids, you may think your family is small, BUT the Sullivan/ Garrity tribe join the Titcombs and have circled our wagons around you, along with many other friends who love you as family. We are all here for you.
Jay, we will miss you more than you can ever know.
With much love and sympathy,
Linda , Pat, Ryan and Becky Garrity
