Jon Peter Miller, 73, passed away early Easter morning surrounded by his family on April 17, 2022 at the University of Utah Hospital. Jon was born on April 27, 1948 in West Allis, Wisconsin to Adolph and Dorinda Miller.
Jon was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing, ATVing and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
Jon introduced many people to hunting who now have a deep love of the great outdoors. Anyone who has shared a hunting camp with him has seen his selfless love for the outdoors and his desire to watch others be successful. He has passed down a legacy and a tradition that will live on through his family and his many friends forever. He will always be a part of every adventure they go on; his memory and all the good times will never be forgotten.
He was the glue in his family and had the sweetest, purest spirit and soul. To know Jon was to love Jon: he was full to the brim with humor and humility. Even in his final hours, he had a positive attitude and sense of humor. Surrounded by his family he shared with them these words in his last hours, "I am reminded I have a limited time, but in reality you should live every lifetime like you have limited time." Jon did just that. People don't die when they leave behind a legacy like Jon did.
Jon is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara Miller; his son Michael Miller; and son Scott Miller, wife Karla and grandson Kase Miller; a sister Jaci Meurer and a brother Jerry Miller and sister-in-law Dee.
A celebration-of-life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
You will always be in my heart JON BOY.
