Jonathan "Jr" Collins

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jonathan "Jr". Collins, who was born on May 5, 1957, in Sturgis, Kentucky, to the late Jonathan E. and Bessie Collins.
Jr. dedicated his life to his community and to the passions that brought him joy. He served as a city councilman and was a proud member of the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA). Professionally, he worked as a plant manager for Saline Valley Propane, where his leadership and commitment were greatly valued.
A true cowboy at heart, Jr. loved rodeo and devoted much of his time to assisting with the Kentucky and Illinois Junior Rodeo Association. His greatest joy came from helping kids, encouraging them to grow in confidence and skill through the sport he loved.
Jr. was also an member of the Community Action Club and a staff member of VFW of Creal Springs, where he worked alongside others to make a positive impact in his community.
He will be remembered for his generosity, his dedication to youth, and his unwavering commitment to service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Donald W. Collins; sisters Edie Godbehere, Phyllis McGloughlin, Kay Murrell, Pam Hannah, and Bobbie Jean Brown.

Funeral service will be 12 PM Wednesday Dec 17, 2025 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis, KY. Keith Lovell will officiate
Visitation will be 10 AM until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Old Bethel Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jr. Collins Memorial Fund at Whitsell Funeral Home.
