Jonathan "Jon" W. Critser, 28, of Monrovia was found on Friday, April 7, 2023, after going missing on Christmas Eve. He was born in Martinsville on November 17, 1994 to Johnny Wayne Stapp and Audrey Marie (Brownen) Andrew.
The apple of his mother's eye from birth, Jon was a precious bundle of joy. Born with a heart defect, the doctors were unsure he would survive, but his strong will to live pulled him through. He attended Monrovia and Martinsville schools, later graduating with honors in Logansport. A rambunctious child, he enjoyed the wind through his hair riding dirt bikes and go-karts.
A truly generous and thoughtful soul, Jon was known to literally give the shirt off his back. With a tremendous sense of humor, he reveled in being the jokester. A rapper at heart, he had his own YouTube channel, where he would entertain spectators with his lyrical raps, along with his talent of Muay Thai. The life of the party, Jon loved his family with his entire heart, especially his mother. When he went missing on Christmas Eve, Audrey diligently searched for her son, never giving up. Gone too soon from this world, Jonathan leaves those who knew and loved him with only memories. He will be deeply and profoundly missed.
Jon was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Wayne Stapp; daughter, Ariella Marie Foster-Critser; uncle, Matthew Brownen; beloved grandfather, John Stapp; and cousin, Josh Calvert.
He leaves behind his mother, Audrey Marie (Brownen) Andrew (Earl Trotter) of Monrovia; step fathers, Jason Andrew of Monrovia, and Billy Critser (Shelly) of Indianapolis; siblings, Dalton Jason "Gunner" Andrew of Martinsville, Lindsey Critser of Indianapolis, Uriah Stapp of Mooresville, and Cara Critser of Martinsville; grandparents, Allen and Linda Brownen of Monrovia, Carol and Joe Jacobs of Monrovia, Patty Vaughn (Mitch Cornett) of Indianapolis, Fred and Danette Critser of Mooresville, and Bob and Cheryl Williams of Mooresville; aunts and uncles, David Stapp (Cheron) of Indianapolis, Amber Knapp of Greenwood, Christopher Stapp of KY, Shelly Firsich (Rick) of Monrovia, Sherry Danielson (Shawn) of Fountaintown, Mick Critser (Angel) of Martinsville, Kelly Daniels (Skylar) of Mooresville, Amanda Vaughn of Indianapolis, April Critser of Mooresville, and Jessie Critser of Mooresville; nieces and nephews, Antonio Jr., Tanyliah, Brandon, and Kaleigha Lyles, and Elijah Williams.
