Patricia "Trish" Nanie Young, 72, of Indianapolis passed away in the comfort of her own home on October 16, 2025, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born on August 31, 1953, in Jonesville, Virginia, to the late Clyde Lewis Sexton and Jaqueline Nagtha (Fields) Austin.
Attending school at Sunnyside in Lafayette, she was a dedicated employee and housekeeper for Windham Properties. A tirelessly true, fiercely loving, and loyal matriarch, she was most proud of the beautiful family that she created. Her joy was amplified by her two children, Shannon and Jamie, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also, an avid dog mom, Trish previously had two white Schnauzers named Tootie and Daisy, who were not just pets-they truly were treated like children and rarely left her side.
Tiny yet mighty, Trish was a vibrant redhead who stood at a majestic 4 feet and 11 inches tall. A whole new level Harley enthusiast, Trish loved to rip through the wind driving her custom-built 883 Hugger. Sharing in the same love for motorcycle riding with her husband, Mark Young. Together, they created countless cherished memories on the open road.
At home, she was a Master Gardener, creating a perfect little oasis in her flower beds. She loved to feed and eventually tame the birds, squirrels, and wildlife that frequently came to visit her yard.
Her zest for life, determination, and unwavering devotion to family and animals of all kinds was truly one of a kind. In her passing, Trish's light continues to shine in the hearts of those she cherished.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Jackie Watson and Jerry Sexton.
Survivors include her loving husband of 40 years, Mark Young of Indianapolis; son, Shenandoah Rowland of West Lafayette; daughter, Jamie Rowland (Jason) of West Lafayette; sister, Cathy Fisher; grandchildren, Dylan, Brendan, Dani, Lyric, Justin, Jace, Brittany, Ashlynn, Janelle, Kalei; great grandchildren, Iris, Cannan, Liam, Leighton, Taydn, Emmie, Kingston, Sammi; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Cremation arrangements were entrusted into the care of Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. The family will privately host a Celebration of Life and an inurnment of ashes will take place at a later date in the Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.
