Margie Louise (Mckinley) Bradshaw, 88, of Monrovia, passed peacefully from this life on Monday, September 29, 2025. She was born in Indianapolis on May 30, 1937, to the late William Everett and Edith Charline (Albrecht) Mckinley. Growing up in West Newton, Margie was the second born child and the only girl. She was an energetic cheerleader at Decatur Central High School where she proudly graduated with the class of 1955. She attended school with her future husband and soulmate, John Bradshaw, and the pair officially met at the Friendswood Youth Group. The young and in love couple married on September 11,1955, and she accompanied him to Purdue for his education. Moving around a bit, the family built their forever home in Hall on his family's farm in 1968. In 1976, Margie and John opened their own independent insurance agency, Associated Professional Agents, and she deservedly retired in 2002. Strong in faith, she was a devoted member of the Gasburg Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for several years and was known as the "Candy Lady". In addition, she also taught at the New Life Assembly of God. Community minded, she volunteered at Clarian West, as well as at the Light and Life Food Pantry. Later in life, she enrolled in IUPUI with her oldest daughter studying the Hebrew language that she learned to speak and read fluently. Margie enjoyed mowing the lawn on her riding mower, and reveled in shopping sprees with her crew, taking bi-weekly shopping trips with all the kids packed in the car and it was overflowing with groceries and packages, later taking each grandchild weekly for their "I love you" presents, along. Vacations were spent camping in the Great Smokey Mountains and trips to the sunny beaches of Florida. As a couple, Margie and John found solace traveling to Hawaii, the Holy Land, Mexico, Bermuda, and drove across the country with friends in their motor home. A loving and caring soul, Margie's latest adventures were spent taking drives with her sidekick mutt, Mollee riding in the backseat. She passed on her knowledge of the Hebrew language to her kids and grandkids and often spoke in the secret language of alfalfa. Known for her sarcastic wit, she will be forever missed by all who were blessed to be in her presence. Along with her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband, John Randall Bradshaw; son, Michael Bradshaw; and brothers, William, Robert, and David McKinley. She leaves behind her children, Donna Pierson (Mike) of Monrovia, Debra Smith (Randy) of Terre Haute, and Mark Bradshaw (Dawn) of Knoxville, TN; brother, Donald McKinley of Mooresville; grandchildren, Michelle, Johnny, Adam, Rebekah, Sarah, Stephen, and Margie Christine; great grandchildren, Darius, Jaylee, Darrick, Aubrie, Braden, Nora, Maeley, Ellie, Wyatt, Hailey, Anna Beth, Noah, Levi, Kailyn, and Luke; along with her beloved dog, Mollee Marie. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 1:00pm in West Newton Cemetery, and Pastor Randy Smith will officiate, and Margie will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, John. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made by mail to the Gasburg Baptist Church Food Pantry or Gasburg Missions, 11564 N Gasburg Rd, Mooresville, IN 46158.
