It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wanda Lou (Cline) Smith, age 75, of Mooresville, who died on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. She passed peacefully while in the comfortable care of hospice at her son's home after courageously battling pancreatic cancer. Wanda was born on December 17, 1949, in Marion, Indiana, to the late William Earl, Sr. and Nanie (Lacefield) Cline. She was the third of four children and grew up in Grant County.
A true leader even from a young age, Wanda was the Class President of Fairmount High School, graduating in 1968. Her professional life included many dedicated years working for Indiana Bell/Ameritech, where she specialized in advertising space in the yellow pages.
Wanda was a woman defined by her strong faith, unwavering dedication, and boundless generosity. Known for her positive spirit, she had a remarkable ability to uplift others, even on her most difficult days. Her giving nature was evident in the countless hours she spent crocheting and knitting hats, scarves, and blankets, which she lovingly donated to those in need, often purchasing toys as well.
God and Family came first in Wanda's life. Her most cherished titles were Mom and Mammy. She was the fun and loving mother who kept family traditions alive, playing games with her children-and occasionally making memorable ones, like throwing up some gravel doing donuts on the backroads when the kids were little!
She was a meticulous note-taker, valuing detail and precision. In her downtime, Wanda enjoyed the simple pleasures of fishing, tending to her houseplants, and flowerbeds. Gospel Music always moved her heart, especially when played on the bagpipes, and she was a lifelong fan of Elvis Presley. Wanda leaves behind a loving family who will dearly miss her strength and warmth. Her memory will live on through her children, grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched with her kindness. She was a bright light-strong, devoted, and full of love. We celebrate the beautiful legacy of faith, family, and service that Wanda Lou Smith leaves behind.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Pam Cline; and brother-in-law, Terry Smalley.
Survivors include her children, Angela "Angie" Anderson (husband, Steven) of Indianapolis and Bradley "BJ" Land of Mooresville; siblings, William "Earl" Cline, Jr. of La Fontaine, Sylvia Smalley of Fairmount, and Russell Cline (wife, Hisako) of Lincoln, California; adored granddaughters, Olivia and Ivy Land of Mooresville; godson, Austin Chinn of Indianapolis; god-grandchildren, Ayden Love and Ashton Chinn of Indianapolis; along with a host of extended family members, former neighbors at Homeplace Apartments, and cherished friends.
Cremation Arrangements were entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel, in Monrovia. Memorial contributions may be made online to benefit the Indiana-
