Rebecca "Becky" Watson Beloved Wife, Mother, Daughter, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend January 20, 1963 – September 22, 2025 Rebecca Jo "Becky" (Griffin) Watson, 62, of Monrovia and previously Indianapolis, fought a courageous and quiet battle with neuroendocrine cancer. As part of her fight, Becky was approved to receive a liver transplant, a testament to her determination and hope in the face of adversity. Due to unfortunate circumstances, the gifted liver was not viable, and she passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Monday, September 22, 2025, in the care of IU University Hospital. Becky's strength was matched by her grace. Though she faced a long and difficult fight, she carried herself with beauty, dignity, and a spirit she rarely let dim. Most never saw the depth of her struggle-because over the last 15 years she never let it define her. She is survived by her devoted husband, Terry Watson, of Monrovia, previously Indianapolis; her loving daughters Jamie Binhack (Kyle) of Monrovia and Breanna Watson of Monrovia; her cherished grandchildren, Ezra and Lukas Binhack; her mother, Anna Griffin of Indianapolis; and her brother, Randy Griffin of Indianapolis; and spoiled rotten grand-kitten, Penny and grand-pups, Si and Bella. Becky was preceded in death by her father, Charles Griffin. Her family was her world, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them. Graduating from Ben Davis High School with the class of 1981, Becky earned her Associate's Degree from Indiana Wesleyan College, and dedicated nearly 40 years of service working as a system test analyst for AT&T. A lifelong fan of Def Leppard, Becky traveled across the country to see them live, collecting memories and melodies that brought her joy. She found excitement in the roar of the racetrack, proudly cheering on Breanna in her work with IndyCar. She loved supporting Jamie in her athletic endeavors throughout the years. Many of her happiest days were spent on the sidelines of her two grandson's sporting events, where her cheers were loudest and her pride immeasurable. Becky also found peace in the simple pleasures of life-especially in the solace of her own yard and home. She loved to mow the grass on her zero-turn lawn mower, soaking in the quiet and the sunshine, and tuning into Netflix or watching soap operas with Terry. Her legacy is one of resilience, warmth, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Funeral and Cremation Arrangements were entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. Friends and family are invited to gather at the funeral home and Celebrate Becky's Life from Noon until 4:00pm, on Saturday, September 27, 2025. The family would like to encourage friends to honor Becky's memory by registering to become an organ donor, or by donating blood and plasma.
