Funeral services for Mr. Jonathan McCall Harris, of Brunswick, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the First African Baptist Church, 405 Telfair Street in Dublin. Reverend Keith Anderson will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.
Brother Jonathan McCall Harris, affectionately known as "Jon-Jon", was born on Tuesday, July 29, 1980, to Reverend Edward Love Harris and Mrs. Betty Harris. He graduated from West Laurens High School in 2001. He was employed at the Pilot Travel Center in Dublin, for 7 years before he located to Brunswick, Georgia, where he was employed at "TA" Travel America for 15 years. Brother Harris accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the First African Baptist Church in Dublin. He was a kind, quiet and loved man throughout the community. One of his favorite pastimes was viewing collections of old sitcoms, such as Sanford & Son, Rocky and Martin.
Mr. Harris transitioned on February 9, 2024, in Brunswick, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Reverend Edward Love Harris, his devoted stepfather, Tommie Anderson, grandparents, Naomi McCall Harris, and Willie Bell and Arthur Smith, sister, Shirley Harris, and brothers, Richard Harris and Steven Jackson, and by aunt, Shirley Wright.
Brother Harris leaves to cherish his loving memories his mother, Betty H. Anderson of Dublin, Georgia, uncle, Alvin Smith of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, siblings, Maria (Thomas) Clark of Bainbridge, Georgia, Jennifer Heath of Byron, Georgia, Valerie Jackson of Dublin, Georgia, Herman Anand Harris, Vernon Love Harris, and Patricia Harris, and a devoted companion, Cherise Hunter of Brunswick, Georgia, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
