Jonathan M. (Jon) "Mabes" Mabry, 66, of Deerfield and formerly N. Utica, passed away unexpectedly on October 31, 2025. He was born on March 7, 1959, the son of the late Gladys Dubiel. He was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Utica.

Jon was the proud owner of Undercut Tree Service, which he ran until his retirement in 2024. Jon was a happy go lucky, free-spirited person, who liked nothing more than spending time with his friends and family. Whether it was riding his motorcycle, being on the water in a boat, or spending time outside; his happiness came from spending time with others. He loved reminiscing about good times and his laugh would bring joy to everyone around him.

Jon is survived by Lorraine Dominick, his loving companion, and her son, Joseph. His cousins who were like his brothers, Brian Szot (and his daughter, Lisa Szot), and Jeffrey Szot (Margaret) and his sons, Joshua and Michael Szot. Also, cousins Kathy Ford (Daniel) and Richard Dubiel (Dolly) and their respective children and numerous other relatives. In addition, a host of long-time cherished friends; Craig George, Fran (Zak) Zakris, John Klein, Art Risucci, Paul Gottuso, Mike Monoply, Ponch and too many more to list. He was predeceased by his aunt and uncle, Frank and Bea Szot, who were like parents to him after his mom's passing, Pamela Szot, and many more relatives.

The family would like to thank everyone who brought joy into Jon's life.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening, November 4, 2025 from 5:30 – 6:30, at the Wolanin Funeral Home, 266 Main St., New York Mills. Mr. Mabry's funeral will follow calling hours at 6:30 at the funeral home.
