Jonathan Stuart Paul, 40, of Chicago, Illinois., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 18, 2025.
He was born on October 3, 1984, in Columbia, South Carolina, one of two sons to Janine M. Paul of Akron, OH and Randall C. Paul of Louisville, KY.
Jonathan was a graduate of St. Xavier and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in finance. He moved to Chicago and held a position as a financial analyst for many years.
Jonathan was a true lover of the outdoors. He was an avid cyclist, marathon runner, and had a love for golf and hiking the mountains. On one particular trip to the Cascade Mountains, he hiked solo for several days. He hang-glided off a 6515-foot mountain in Turkey just for fun. Additionally, he was an avid reader and self-taught guitarist. It was a true joy to be around him, his infectious smile and sense of humor were unmatched. He will be truly missed by so many who loved him.
In addition to his parents, Janine and Randall, Jonathan is also survived by his wife, Katie Meinkoth; his brother, Andrew E. Paul (Amy Vannatta); aunts and uncles, Vicki Beasley, Jerry Egan (Suzy), John Egan (Tracy), Dan Egan (Patty); and cousins, Eric, Paul, Courtney, Magi, Colin,Theresa, Regina, Alex and Ben.
There will be a visitation from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews. Service to follow at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial gifts in the form of contributions may be made to the donor's charity of choice in Jonathan's name.
