Jonathan Dallas Swarthout - lovingly known as "My Big Old Bear" - passed away on July 29, 2025, at the age of 35. Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate the life of a man whose presence could light up any room and whose love was felt in every embrace.

Jonathan's bear hugs were legendary - warm, comforting, and full of love. He had a way of making everyone around him feel seen and cared for, whether through his kindness, his goofy sense of humor, or the way his laughter could fill a room. True to his playful nature, Jonathan could fall asleep anywhere - even in church - bringing smiles and laughter to all who knew him. With his big heart, handsome smile, and loving spirit, he had the rare gift of making strangers feel like friends, and friends feel like family.

He will be remembered for his gentle strength, his endless jokes, and his ability to bring joy wherever he went. To know Jonathan was to know a love that was strong, tender, and full of fun.

Jonathan is survived by his loving wife, Ariena Swarthout; his children, Dewey, Zayden, Elijah, and Rosalee Swarthout; his parents, John and Terri Swarthout; his sister, Karrisa Swarthout; and his aunt and uncle, Mitchel and Vicky Swarthout. His memory will forever live on in their hearts and the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.

A service to celebrate Jonathan's life will be held on Saturday, August 30, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Our Father's House, 1005 I Street, Los Banos, California. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and honor the incredible man who brought so much light and love into the world.

Though Jonathan is no longer with us, his laughter, bear hugs, and boundless love will remain in our hearts forever.
