Jonathan Trippe Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 24, 2024.
Jon passed away July 9th after a
long and brave battle with kidney disease. He is
survived by Maggie Salerno, his partner of 39 years
and guardian angel, and his siblings Ned Trippe,
Lane Trippe, and Amy Trippe Brophy.
Jon grew up in Montclair NJ, the youngest of
4 children to Ed and Allie Trippe. He loved his
family, and cherished his lifelong friendship with
the Seidlers, and friends at Storm King School.
Jon had a successful career with NJM Insurance
Group for over 35 years, where he met Maggie.
Jon loved studying American history and vis-
iting historical sites. He was a classic guy loving
classic movies, classic TV shows and vinyl Rock
and Roll. Jon loved to travel and, in later years, took
worldwide cruises with Maggie. Increasing NJ
traffic and congestion and rude behavior were
the bane of his existence.
Jon requested no memorial service be held. A
private remembrance will be held at a later date.
Heartfelt thanks to all the incredible doctors,
nurses and medical staff caring for Jon.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Jon's
name, and in recognition of Lane for her gift of
a kidney, may be made to the National Kidney
Foundation, kidney.org, or the Kidney Transplant
program at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center,
cbmcgiving.org.

Jon had a wonderful infectious laugh and smiling eyes!! And he had an amazing gift of a detailed memory -- about family and friends and history.
