Jonathan Edward Weiland, a resident of Rome, Wisconsin, passed away May 20, 2025 as a result of catastrophic injuries suffered in a car accident May 6, 2025. Originally from LaGrange Park, Illinois, Jon was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy, and by his sister Jill and her husband Mike Faust. Beloved brother of William, Jr. (Mary), Walter (Cindy), Mark (Sue), Janice Halfacre (Scott), and James (Sarah), he is also survived by many Nieces and Nephews, and their children, of whom he kept proudly abreast of their many accomplishments. Jon was a man for whom family was very important, and he traveled often to visit his relatives in their far away cities. He was an avid historian of the American Civil War, and had also traveled to many battlefields and reenactments. Jon's hobbies included his tropical fish and his birds, his model trains as well as ship models and his collection of Civil War books. Jon will be laid to rest next to his parents at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois.
