Joni was born May 31, 1962, to Richard and Barbara Ren of Danville Illinois. She
passed from this earth on March 29, 2023, from complications caused by multiple
cancers spanning the last seven years. She is preceded in death by her father Richard
(Dick) Ren. She is survived by Mother, Barbara Morgan, stepfather Jim Morgan, brother.
Rick Ren and wife Joann, Daughter Kristi Shell, son Brent Curtis and wife Ashley and
grandchildren Hayden, Bryson and Baylee. She is also survived by stepdaughter.
Colleen Gillaspy and husband Joey and stepdaughter Alissa Abeyta and husband
Anthony and grandchildren Cooper, Hayes, Harper and A.J.
Joni graduated from Danville High school and then obtained an Associate's degree from
Danville Junior College. She later graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington
with a BBA. She was a software developer designing business critical applications.
supporting various operational platforms. She left the IT world to devote more energies
to her two children and embarked on a successful crafting business which provided
much needed flexibility. Her business, "Little Things from the Heart" could be found on
main street Grapevine along with an additional craft booth in Colleyville.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 4th at 2:00 pm at the Lucas Funeral Home
700 W. Wall Street, Grapevine Texas 76501.
