Jorge Laurel Jr. 73, of Corpus Christi, TX, formerly a native of Oilton, TX, where his roots were truly planted, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 22, 2023.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Sagrario Rodriguez Laurel and their children, Sandra Eliza Laurel (Jim Boudreaux), Jorge Laurel (Dorothe), Anna Laurel Murphy (Carl), Cynthia Laura Laurel(Britt Schrumpf), Susana Laurel Palacios (Robert).
Jorge leaves his grandchildren, Meagan Guiffrida(Steven), Emily Laurel, Alexander Laurel, Kypp Andre Knippers, George Tanner Knippers (Coryn), Laurel Reid, Brycen Duplechain, Chaz Schrumpf, Brice Schrumpf, Audrey Schrumpf, Nicolas Alvarez, Christopher Alvarez and his great grandchildren, Steven Guiffrida Jr. and Aria Marie Knippers.
Siblings left to cherish his memories are Dolores Rodriguez (Manuel), Maria Orozco (Pablo).
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Susana Rangel Laurel and his brother Ernesto Laurel.
He had many nieces and nephews who will miss "Tio Gungo".
Jorge was retired from the Petrochemical Industrywhere he worked as an Operator for 20 years, that industry took him to Louisiana where he resided for 10years before returning to his Texas roots. Anyone that knew Jorge, knew he did not know the meaning of retired, he spent the final years of his career in the security field.
In his earlier years, he was a member of the Jaycees Oilton Chapter, where he volunteered his time serving the community in many fundraising events throughout Texas.
Jorge was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and was a member of the Calaveras Motorcycle Club Chapter 13 for over 18 years where he presided as Treasurer. He will be greatly missed by his band of brothers. To see him on his motorcycle was to see him with a smile on his face, but the most cherished memories he made were the ones he made traveling through all the states with his cousin, who was more like a brother to him, Rudy Laurel on his motorcycle.
His death is not the end, just the beginning of his everlasting life.
