Beeville - Jose Borjas, a devoted Jehovah's Witness, passed away peacefully in his home on April 2, 2025. He was 90. Jose was born November 29, 1934 in Beeville, Texas to the late Jose and Anjelita Borjas. He spent the last 30 years of his life as a resident of Beeville, Texas and most of his life as a resident of Sinton, Texas. Jose was a retired farmer by trade. He enjoyed fishing, watching baseball, planting vegetables, fruits, and sunflowers. Jose is survived by his wife of 57 years, Juanita Borjas; his daughter, Jo Ann Escobar (Daniel); his son, Jose(Joey) Borjas Jr.; and his granddaughter, Rebecca Escobar, all of Beeville, Texas.
He is preceded in death by a son, Jeremiah Borjas; brothers: Manuel Borjas (Bacilea) of Plano, Texas; Guadalupe Borjas(Josephina) of Beeville, Texas; Eugenio Borjas (Maria) of Hale Center, Texas; sisters: Alvina Rios (Antonio) of Rosenberg, Texas; Otilia Gonzales(Jose) of Haskell, Texas; Beatriz Gonzales (Mike) of Lubbock, Texas; Tomasa Naranjo (Martin) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Luz Serna (Cipriano) of Amarillo, Texas; and Angelita Maldonado (Marcelo) of Davidson, Oklahoma.
He is also survived by one brother, Hilario Borjas (late Reyes Borjas) of Seminole, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a dedicated servant in the Beeville Spanish Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Teaching and preaching bible truths to others brought him the most joy. He was a devoted family man and will be greatly missed by his family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, 7:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3944 Highway 181 S, Beeville, Texas.
