Jose G. Galindo, age 84, passed away on October 20, 2024 at his home in Kermit TX. He was born on July 13, 1940 in Manuel Benavides, MX to Gabriel and Francisca (Guevara) Galindo.
Jose was a very hard working man who moved to the US at the age of 16 to work on the farms as a laborer. He had a love of music and was a devoted grandfather. Jose was known by his special nickname of "El Burro Norteno". He will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Gabriel and Francisca Galindo; daughter: Martha Galindo; sisters: Socorro Lujan and Arcadia Galindo; and brothers: Carlos Galindo and Manuel Galindo.
Jose is survived by his sons: Victor Galindo of Arlington, TX; Jose Victor Galindo of Phoenix, AZ; Christopher Gilbert Galindo and wife Susie of Goodyear, AZ; Joel Galindo of Kermit, TX; daughters: Christine Galindo of Kermit, TX; Graciela Galindo and husband Sandro Rendon Hernandez of Salt Lake City, UT; brother: Ramon Galindo and wife Cruz of Kermit, TX; sister: Maria Elena Galindo of Manuel Benavides, MX; grandchildren: Christopher Gilbert Jr., Manuel Galindo, Jonathan Corliss, Audrey Tapia, Desiree Galindo, Alex Galindo, Angel Galindo, Valarie Rodriguez, Victoria Rendon, Rudy Junior Padilla, Victoria Padilla, and Joel Galindo Jr.; and numerous great-grandchildren.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, October 28, 2024 at Family Services Funeral Chapel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at St. Thomas/St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kermit officiated by Father Victorino Loresca Jr.. Burial will follow at Kermit Cemetery. Pallbearers will include: Rudy Padilla, Alex Galindo, Angel Galindo, Carlos Galindo, Oscar Montoya, and Sandro Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers are Jordan Padilla, Dominik Kates, Jonathan Corliss Jr., Ramon Galindo, and Joel Galindo Jr.
Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor and condolences may be sent to the family at www.fs-fp.com.
