Joe Garcia went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 27, 2025. On June 22 of 1935, Jose Lee Garcia could not wait to get his life started. He arrived early, ahead of the midwife that was to help his arrival into the world. He was born on the Emerson Sain Farm, near Agua Dulce. He attended and graduated a proud Agua Dulce Longhorn, Class of 1955. While there he excelled at baseball and was a member of the Longhorn marching band. Joe, as he was known by everyone, worked at the Sain Farm most of his life. He loved playing and coaching baseball. He had the honor of coaching many young men and his goal was always to make them winners. He was President of the Grain Belt Sports Association and was also part of the Band Booster Club. Joe never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. Joe married the love of his life, Maria Guadalupe Garza, in September of 1957. They had 4 children: Joe Garcia (Diana) of San Antonio, Javier Garcia (Janie) of Agua Dulce, Beatrice James (Charles) of Pearland and Abigail Garcia. Joe also leaves behind 7 Grand Kids and 13 Great Grand Kids.

Jose also was particularly close to his nephew Juan G. Sanchez (Elida), whom he regarded as his brother. Jose also had numerous Nieces and Nephews that he cherished and loved very much.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Guadalupe Garcia, his daughter, Abigail Garcia, his parents Jose and Natividad Garcia, his brother Rev. Ernesto Garcia, and sisters Rafaela Sanchez, Beatriz Garcia and Noemi Martinez.
Come and join us in celebrating Joe's life.
Viewing will be Friday, May 2, 2025 from 5 :00 PM to 7:00 PM and a special service from 7:00 to 8:00 pm at Templo de Libercion, 104 Schely St., Alice, TX.
Funeral service will be on May 3, 2025 with a viewing from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Templo Libercion, followed by a short service with burial to follow at New Collins Cemetery, 135 S. Flournoy Rd, Alice, TX.
