Bryan McDonough Obituary

McDonough, Bryan

August 23, 1965 - April 27, 2024

Bryan Cody McDonough, 58, of Waco entered his eternal home with his Lord and Savior on April 27, 2024, after a valiant 21-year battle with progressive Multiple Sclerosis. His family was with him as he was welcomed into the arms of Jesus.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 on Friday, May 3 at Renew Church Waco with Pastor Wayne Williams and Pastor Stephen Ramsdell officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr. in Waco.

Bryan was born August 23, 1965, to Dan Kenard and Doretta Albina Hoelscher McDonough in Corpus Christi, TX. From an early age the importance of family, faith, and farming were instilled in Bryan. He graduated from Agua Dulce High School in 1984 and attended Texas A&I University and Texas A&M University. His favorite tradition at Texas A&M was coming together with his fellow cadets to build the Aggie Bonfire. He also completed his Auto Mechanics studies at Del Mar College. On October 16, 1993, he married his forever love and best friend, Veronica David McDonough. Their fondest memories were of dancing together to their favorite songs. They were blessed with three wonderful children and two grandchildren. Bryan was the foundation of his family's faith, and he taught them what it meant to be faithful servants. For over 30 years, Bryan served the Hewitt and Waco communities with personalized and trustworthy auto repair. Bryan was blessed to have the support and care of his family who took care of him daily and handled his illness with such grace.

Such a good guy, always so conscientious and good to his customers. Old school, in a good way. RIP Bryan.

We are so sad to hear of Bryan´s passing. We would have been there to honor a man that we truly admired. His courageous battle with this horrible disease was heroic . His love of his family was his fuel to keep fighting. He made jokes about his disease and kept Linda positive in fighting the same disease. We knew Bryan since the early 80´s with him working on our vehicles at Waco Nissan. His honesty and integrity was impeccable. We felt honored to have Bryan as a friend, we are so saddened by his passing,, Veronica, you certainly gave meaning to " in sickness and in health ", he left a fabulous legacy. Veronica, I was so sad when I learned about your sweetheart, Bryan. He was a REAL trooper. He is now with Jesus and that is the best. Veronica, make Jesus your comforter which I know you have already done. He has done so much for me since losing my Precious.

Veronica and family. Bryan was a great man, who loved his God and his family. I'm so sorry for you loss. Wish I could attend visitation or funeral, but I'm still just a little too tender from the loss of Herb. Love you Veronica. My heart hurts for you and your sweet family. I miss our "ringing" together.
