Jose Hernandez, 69, of Port Huron went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. He passed at home with his family at his side after fighting a courageous battle with MDS.
He was born on March 30, 1955, in Port Huron, the cherished son of Jesus and Victoria (Sandoval) Hernandez.
Jose had a hard working spirit and even during his retirement he was known as the neighborhood handyman. He was always eager to help his family and friends and had the unique ability to take an idea for a project and see it become a reality.
Most of all Jose loved spending time with his family, playing his dad's Hummingbird guitar, finding treasures at garage sales, having lunches by the river, watching football, and barbecuing.
Jose is survived by his beloved wife, Shelly; his children, Joseph (Adrienne) Hernandez, and Laura (Matthew) Pawlak; his grandchildren, whom he loved very much, Kylie, Mason, Cullen, Easton, Aubreigh, Romen, Lane, and Kinsleigh, his siblings, Jesus, Oralia, Abraham, Daniel, and Angelina; many more loving family members; and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Rosie, Victoria, Pedro, and Ida.
Memorials are suggested to "Wishes of the Family"
A celebration of Jose's life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Living Waters Fellowship Church, 4731 Lapeer Road, Kimball, Michigan 48074.
