Roberta Temple Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grace Memorial - Smith Chapel - Port Huron on Jul. 7, 2025.
Roberta Agnes (Nofs) Temple, 88, of Port Huron, passed away peacefully at her home in Port Huron, Michigan, on July 4, 2025. She was born on October 23, 1936, on the kitchen table in the family home on Campau Avenue to her parents, Albert and Bertha Nofs.
For many years, she delighted the palates of those she served as a caterer, pouring her love into every dish she prepared. Later, she continued to spread joy through her culinary talents as a cook for the Port Huron Area School District, where her warm smile and delicious meals were a comfort to many.
Beyond her work, Roberta's passions were deeply rooted in the simple pleasures of life. She had a special affinity for the beauty of nature, often found tending to the flowers in her yard. Her home was open to anyone who crossed her path. To Roberta, everyone was a friend, and she lived by the principle of extending a helping hand wherever it was needed.
Roberta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James "Jim" L. Temple, with whom she shared nearly five decades of marriage since their union on May 25, 1957. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Adam Temple.
She is survived by her children, Leroy (Pam) Temple, Dennis (Lisa) Temple, Gary (Tina) Temple, and Karen (Ron) Morris; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Grace Memorial-Smith Chapel. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Dr. G. Patrick Thompson will officiate. A light reception will follow in the Smith Reception Hall at Grace Memorial. Cremation has taken place.
Memorials are suggested to the Council on Aging of St. Clair County, 600 Grand River Ave, Port Huron, MI 48060. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Roberta, please visit our floral store.
