Jose Benito Sanchez age 94, passed away peacefully and was welcomed into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A devoted Christian, proud Korean War veteran, and loving family man, Joe lived defined by faith, service , and unwavering love for his family.
Joe honorably served his country during the Korean War, answering the call to defend freedom with courage, sacrifice, and humility. His military service shaped the man he became-instilling disipline, resilience, and a deep sense of duty and honor that guided him throughout his life.
A man of strong Christian faith, Joe trusted fully in God's plan and lived by his word. He believed in prayer, grace, and loving others as Christ taught. His faith carried him through life's challenges and gave peace in knowing his salvation was secure through Jesus Christ.
Joe had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found great joy in fishing and hunting, often sharing those moments with family and friends. Those quiet times reflected his love for God's creation and his calm, steady nature.
Joe was a devoted father to his three children, a proud grandfather to nine grandshildren, and a charished great-grandfather to fifteen great-grandchildren. His family was his greatest joy, and he took immense pride in seeing generations grow, guided by the values he helped instill.
Joe Sanchez was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Atacha Sanchez, and his son, Joe Richard Sanchez.
Joe Sanchez will be remembered for his steady strength, gentle wisdom, unwavering faith, and love of the outdoors. Though his earthly service is comeplete, his heavenly reward is fulfilled. He now rests in the presence of his Savior, reunited with loved ones and fellow veterans who have gone before him.
Funeral services for Joe will be held Friday, January 23, 2026 at 3:00 PM, with a viewing prior from 1:45 PM-2:45 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84084.
Following funeral services, all are welcome to gather at Golden Corral. Please note that meals will be at each guest’s own expense.
