Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to our beloved Jose Lopez, who passed away peacefully. Born on April 15, 1929, he was the cherished son of Maria and Ruben Rivas.
In 1956, Jose married our dear Bartola Lopez in their hometown of Chirilagua. Together, they shared a lifetime of love and devotion.
He served honorably as a soldier in the Salvadorean Military from 1956 to 1958. After moving to the United States, he worked diligently as a dishwasher for 18 years, always demonstrating dedication and hard work.
Jose found joy in the simple pleasures: the serenity of fishing, the camaraderie of watching sports, the laughter found in dancing, the thrill of playing scratch offs, and the comfort of drinking beer with friends. Each moment was cherished, a testament to a life lived fully in the embrace of life's modest treasures.
He is survived by daughters Ana Maribel Cortez (and Godofredo Cortez), Rosa M Hernandez (and Samuel Galvez), and Alejandra Sanchez. His sons Luis Alonso Sanchez (and Maria Sanchez), Ruben Lopez (and Reyna Lopez), Luis E. (and Morena Lopez), Wilfredo (and Margarita Lopez), Antonio (and Bonnie Lopez), Salvador (and Iris Lopez), Walberto (and Nargiza Lopez). His sister Elida Lopez de Guerrero. His 27 Grandchildren, 17 Great-grandchildren, 1 Great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Bartola Lopez. His parents Maria and Ruben Rivas. His sisters Ernestina Lopez and Emma Lopez. His grandparents Genara and Chepe Lopez. His grandson Luis Sanchez.
Jose leaves behind a large family and a legacy of service and simple joys. His vibrant spirit and the happiness he shared will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known him. He will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and his memory will live on in the stories we share and the love we carry with us.
