Jose Miramontes

Jose Miramontes, 77, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, at his home in Alamosa, CO. He was born November 16, 1947, in La Lavorcita, Chihuahua, MX, to Refugio and Rafaela Miramontes. Jose spent many years conducting fieldwork. He was known to sell his famous "tamales" as well as pinon and food for the Stampede many years ago. He did everything he could to ensure his wife and family were always taken care of. Jose was a kind and gentle man, known for his kind words, generous heart, and warm hugs. The joy and laughter he brought to those around him will be cherished by all he left behind. He always gave the best advice and only wanted happiness for those around him. He had a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. Jose could get anything to grow. He planted many trees, where he would later enjoy their shade daily. His simple joy was to sit and admire their growth. Jose enjoyed camping with his family and taking his wife fishing. He enjoyed his yearly hunting trips with his brother-in-law when he was able to still go. Jose had a passion for collecting guns and knives. He enjoyed showing them to family and friends. Above all, he adored his family and was the happiest when all together. Jose was a familiar and beloved man in his town and the surrounding areas. Friends knew him from the livestock auction and as the tamale man. He was always willing and ready to help with what he could. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rosemary Miramontes. Sons, Joel Miramontes "Molly Grimes", Daniel Miramontes "Adrianne Martinez", Jensiah Miramontes "Alyssa Campos", His Beloved Daughter, Angel Miramontes "Tyson Hutchison", Grandchildren, Clarissa Miramontes "Juan Majalca", Devon Miramontes, Destiny Miramontes "Roger Villalobos", Uriah Miramontes, Ezmeralda Miramontes, all of Alamosa, CO. He is also survived by great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Jose was preceded in death by both his parents, Refugio and Rafaela Miramontes, Chihuahua, MX. Grandson, Dominic Miramontes, Alamosa, CO. Grandson, Damian Miramontes, Olathe, CO. Grandson, Daniel Miramontes Jr., Alamosa, CO. As well as his brothers and sisters. Viewing service will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Romeros Funeral Home, Alamosa, CO, from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Romeros Funeral Home, Alamosa, CO., at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at The Alamosa Cemetery. Family and friend food gathering will be held afterwards at St. Ives Alamosa, CO. Jose's life was a testament to true love and devotion for all his family. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by those who knew him.
