Jose “Popo” Hector Adame, 75, of Plainview passed away on January 9, 2025. Funeral services are still pending at this time. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors.
Popo was born on September 27, 1949 in O’Donnell, Texas to Enrique Adame and Lola Chaga Valdez. Popo became a lifelong resident of Plainview, Texas in his young life.
After retirement, Popo enjoyed spending time with his family. He would put others' needs above his own. He loved to tell jokes and tell stories. He loved to host mini football family gatherings, not for love of football, but to only “trash talk” the families team. Most importantly, he took pride in his cooking. Everyone loved Popo’s fried bean burritos.
Popo is survived by his children, April Adame (LeRoy), Leticia Adame, Daniel Adame (Kathy), Raymond Luna, Jose Jaime; his grandchildren, Zavian Adame, Damario Adame, Elias Adame, Josiah Adame, Jason Lopez, Lincoln and Colton Luna, Isabel Jaime and Miguel Jaime, Crystal Garcia, Lauren Garcia, Valerie Garcia; fourteen great grandchildren; brothers, David Valdez, Roy Valdez; sisters, Rosa Valdez, Geneva Aguirre and Dora Munoz and many nieces and nephews.
Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Chaga; one daughter, Lucita Adame; two brothers, Raul Valdez and Ismeal Valdez and two sisters, Janit Gonzales and Delores Luera.
