JOSE "KOOL KAT" SAUCILLO WAS BORN ON JUNE 16, 1952, IN SAN SABA, TX. KOOL KAT LOST HIS BATTLE WITH CANCER, ON MARCH 22, 2024. HE WAS THE FOURTH BORN OF 13 CHILDREN BORN TO SIPRANO & TIBURCIA SAUCILLO. HE IS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, ONE SISTER LUCIA SAUCILLO AND ONE BROTHER PABLO SAUCILLO SR. HE ALSO HAD A SON, J.J. BUT HAS SINCE PASSED AWAY.
BORN IN SAN SABA, KOOL KAT WAS A MAN OF MANY TRADES. HE LOVED TO WORK OUTDOORS, HE WAS A SHEEP SHEARER, WORKED IN THE PECANS, BUDDING AND PICKING, A BRICK LAYERS HELPER AND HE ALSO PAINTED A FEW LOCAL HOUSES BY HAND. IN HIS LAST YEARS HE DID A LOT OF LANDSCAPING FOR SEVERAL PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY. HE WAS WELL LIKED BY ALL HIS EMPLOYERS BECAUSE OF HIS WORK ETHIC.
KOOL KAT HELPED HIS BELOVED AUNT ANDREA, WHO WAS MORE OF A MOTHER FIGURE, RAISE HIS GREAT NIECES, JAMIE DAVILA, JULIE JIMENEZ, AND SYLVIA JIMENEZ. HE WAS AN AMAZING GODFATHER TO JAMIE AND JULIE. THEY ALL LOVED HIM DEARLY.
KOOL KAT KEPT A SMALL CIRCLE OF FRIENDS; HE WAS A PRIVATE MAN. CHINO ZAPATA, PETE GONZALES AND MARIO GONZALES WERE HIS CLOSEST FRIENDS WHOM HE LIKED TO HAVE A BEER WITH EVERY ONCE IN WHILE WITH OR AFTER A LONG DAY OF WORK.
HE ALSO LOVED TO COOK, ESPECIALLY OUTSIDE OVER AN OPEN FIRE. HE COLLECTED ARROWHEADS, LOVED TO LISTEN TO MUSIC, WATCH MOVIES ON HIS VCR AND HE LOVED TO GARDEN. KOOL KAT HAD A SAYING HE ALWAYS SAID IT WAS "HEY BUDDY", AND HE ALSO HAD THAT ONE SPECIAL YELL THAT WE ALL KNOW AND NOW WILL MISS HEARING.
AFTER KOOL KATS HEALTH STARTED TO DECLINE, HE RELOCATED TO FORT WORTH, WHERE HE RECEIVED SPECIAL CARE FROM HIS FAVORITE SISTER NANCY AND FAVORITE NIECE OLIVIA PEREZ. THEY TOOK HIM TO ALL HIS APPOINTMENTS AND ESPECIALLY TAKING THOSE TRIPS TO WEST SIDE CAFÉ WHERE HE LOVED TO EAT. MOMENTS SUCH AS THESE WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED.
HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS BROTHER ANTONIO SAUCILLO SR. AND HIS WIFE AMELIA, FROM STEPHENVILLE, TX., LIDIA TORRES FROM LOMETA, TX., TOMASA TORRES FROM LOMETA, TX., NANCY SAUCEDO AND HER HUSBAND CHRIS FROM FORT WORTH, TX., LOUIS SAUCILLO AND HIS WIFE NAOMI FROM SAN SABA, TX., RAYMOND SAUCILLO FROM BURLESON, TX., SAN JUAN SAUCILLO FROM GOLDTHWAITE, TX., PATRICIA PEREZ FROM SAN SABA, TX., SIPRIANO SAUCILLO JR FROM SAN SABA, TX., AND CONNIE HERNANDEZ FROM SAN SABA, TX.
