Joseph John Alix, 51, passed away on August 23, 2025. He was born in Plattsburgh NY on August 23, 1974 to John and Nancy (Brooks) Alix. He graduated from Chateaugay Central School in 1992, attended RIT, NCCC, and SUNY Plattsburgh, where he graduated with several Associate and Bachelor degrees in Business Administration and Management. As owner and operator of Alix's True Value in Plattsburgh Plaza for 23 years, Joe was at his best helping customers with their various repairs and projects. He also loved camping, heavy metal music, and was a talented cartoonist and artist. His cooking and grilling skills were top notch. But above all that, he loved his children, Samantha and Michael, and said that they were his finest accomplishment. Joe was smart, goofy, witty, and utterly sarcastic, but he was also kind-hearted. He was a self-stated hugger and would want you to hug your loved ones close to you, as often as you can. His maternal grandparents, Lyle and Bertha Brooks, and paternal grandparents Fernand and Irene Alix, predeceased him. Joe is leaving behind his children, parents, siblings Shari and Jay, his one-and-only favorite niece Lily, all from Chateaugay, Store Mom Aunt Cora Smith, ex-wife Maura (Lockwood) Alix, and special friends Stacey Pulsifer and Sharon Raymond. There are no public services. Close friends and family will have a private celebration of life at a later time.
