Joe worked for me at Montgomery Ward while he was attending Texas Tech. He was one of the finest young men that ever worked for me. He had a positive influence on those with whom he worked. I am so sorry for your loss and that I did not know of his illness. He will always be in my thoughts.

I'm sorry for your loss. I grew up at North Park Baptist Church and knew the Atnips, and the Browns. I remember the boys coming to church and sitting with their parents. RL and Zerma Lee were so proud. Thoughts and prayers for God's love and comfort to be with your family.

Sorry to hear this--my condolences to his family. I grew up one block south of the Atnip's home in Sherman. Joe was a few years older than me, and was something of a role model for me, as I followed him a few years later in Boy Scouts, at Camp Grayson, and in school. He always had perfect manners and conducted himself with the ease and polish of an older, more experienced guy. I'm sure he barely knew me, but I always admired him and his accomplishments.
