Joseph John Baldyga, age 82, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at his home in Crest Hill, IL. He retired from the Santa Fe Railroad after 37 years of employment. He was an avid golfer and an enthusiastic crossword puzzle solver. Joseph was a fantastic father and he treasured his close bond with his granddaughter. He made friends wherever he went. He was always so welcoming to new and old friends with his great sense of humor and kind heart. Joseph was loved very deeply by his family and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife Jacqueline "Jackie" Baldyga (nee Mulligan); cherished daughters Michelle (Douglas) Hoeffel and Susan (fiancé Tim Kelley) Baldyga and much-loved granddaughter Danielle Hoeffel. Joseph is preceded in death by his dear parents Joseph and Jeanette Baldyga. It was Joe's wishes that there would be no service, he just wanted prayers to be said for him by those who loved him. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) Services entrusted to Anderson-Goodale Memorial Homes 815-577-5250
