Joseph Bergmann was born in Boerne to Clarence and Shirley Bergmann in November 1944. He died peacefully in Boerne on August 4, 2024, after declining due to dementia.
He went to St. Mary's University for his bachelor's and master's degrees, served in the U.S. Navy, then spent 29 years working as a civil servant with the US Military. Joe, I apologized for not keeping in contact with you while you were here on earth. Even though you & I did not maintain a close friendship you will always be my friend . I now live near Victoria, Tx , watching the Southwest Region winner in Boys Little League, your hometown boys, the Boerne boys Little League Team. I wanted to congratulate you as your team beat Florida 4-1. As a straight man, I love you Joe. From heaven watch over me and keep me within the limits of the commandments. Your friend Jim (unconventional) Slovak
