Joseph Bryant Obituary

Visit the Lee Funeral Home - Clinton website to view the full obituary.

Joseph (Joe) Bryant of Upper Marlboro, Maryland passed away peacefully, and in the presence of the love of his life on August 4th, 2025.

Joe was born December 15th, 1952 to Vivian Ellen Bryant and Harold (Bill) Enever Bryant in Durham, North Carolina. He was their second son, and is survived by both his older sister, Charlene Baine (Roger), and his younger brother Tom Bryant (Melody). Joe is preceded in death by both his parents Vivian and Bill, as well as his brother-in-law, Roger.

Joe entered the Army National Guard at 19 years old, serving 6 years. In that time, he met his wife, Denise.

Joe was a loyal employee, working for Johnson Controls his entire career, and finally retiring a few years ago. During his retirement he picked back up on his love for golf, often going with his best friends, his son Jason, or his grandson Joey. Not only did Joe love golf, but he also loved his football Sunday’s watching the Redskins. After retirement, regardless of the day, Joe didn’t venture far from the comfort zone of his living room, where you’d find him with his legs crossed in his chair, situated in the center of the living room with a Pepsi max, Benson & Hedges 100’s, and a deck of cards nearby. He also loved maintaining his pool during the summer to spend time with Denise and his grandchildren. In recent years he was able to enjoy even more time with his great grandchildren.

Joe is survived by his wife, Denise; his siblings, Charlene and Tom; his children, Jennifer and Jason; his grandchildren, Joey (Brooke), Travis, Faith, Skylar, Brooke, and John; and his great-grandchildren, Blaire, Cameron, and Oliver.

Family will receive friends and relatives for gathering and prayers at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 15th at Lee Funeral Home located at 6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Road Clinton, Maryland 20735. Burial services will take place at a later date at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery with his immediate family and friends.

Joe was “the man”, as those closest to his heart would describe him. He was a hardworking, loving, and dedicated family man. He will be forever loved and missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
