Joseph Paul Butticci, 53, passed away on August 30, 2025, in Chandler, AZ surrounded by his family who loved him dearly. Joe was born a twin to his sister, Annette, and the two of them went through their lives together as the very best of friends, loving and supporting each other. He and his big brother, Tony, were great friends too and made lots of wonderful memories together. He had a sweet and loving bond with his mom who made sure to make every holiday and special occasion feel magical for him and his family. He and his dad were best buddies and enjoyed playing catch, fishing, bonding over sports and making each other laugh.
Joe had a delightful childhood filled with many great friends with whom he loved spending quality time and having fun adventures. Joe's youth revolved around all of the sports he played. He joined Pop Warner football as a young boy which extended into his high school years where he went on to letter in the sport. He wrestled and played baseball too, and he was a phenomenal catcher! He enjoyed his high school days to the fullest, and they really were his "glory days". He was an outdoorsman at heart and even garnered the nickname, Lumberjack Joe, to represent his love of nature, camping and exploring. He was everyone's favorite person, and people gravitated towards him because of his bright light, lovely smile, shimmering blue eyes, incredible sense of humor, but mostly because of his big, beautiful heart!
He went on to marry his wife, Shelli, who blessed him with his precious stepdaughter, Krista, and their beautiful daughter together, Maci, whom he loved with all of his heart and soul. His family meant the world to him, and he worked hard to provide an abundant life for them. Due to the challenges of life, he and his wife separated after many years together, but they continued to care for each other nonetheless.
He worked as a driver for UPS and was proud of being awarded for his 30+ years of safe driving. He was able to make it all the way to his retirement, which he enjoyed for a very brief time. Spending time with his family is what he valued the most, and he always did his best to bring joy, fun and laughter into every occasion.
This loss is huge and felt by many, but we can all rest easy knowing that he is at peace and will be with us forevermore in spirit. He is preceded in death by his father, Don, and he is survived by his mother, Linda, daughter, Maci, stepdaughter, Krista, granddaughters, Avery and Halle, sister, Annette, (brother-in-law, John), brother, Tony, (sister-in-law, Jennifer), many nephews, nieces and other loving family members and friends. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held in his honor at Hansen's Mortuary located at 8314 N. 7th St., Phoenix, AZ 85020 on Sunday, September 7th at 11 am.
