Joseph "Joe" R. Caltagirone, 81, of Robesonia, died October 1, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Joseph was the husband of Sharon L. (Yeakley) Caltagirone, Robesonia, with whom he shared sixty years of marriage. In addition, he is survived by his daughter, Stephanie C. Mowery, wife of David Mowery, Shillington, and son, Christopher P. Caltagirone, husband of Kelly (Melcher) Caltagirone, Phoenixville; his grandsons, Taylor and Joshua Mowery, Shillington; and his granddaughters, Chloe and Carly Caltagirone, Phoenixville. He is also survived by brothers Thomas and James Caltagirone, and sister Patricia O'Brien.
He was the son of the late Raymond and Stella Caltagirone and was predeceased by brothers Samuel, Anthony, Franklin, Raymond, and John Caltagirone, and sisters, Rose and Josephine Caltagirone, and Dolores Myatt.
Joseph worked for many years in finance. He was Deputy Secretary of Administration for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; President and CEO of the board of directors of Glidco Federal Credit Union; office manager for the Berks County Recorder of Deeds; and Director of Fiscal Operations for the Berks County Youth Center.
He also served as manager of systems and programming for the Pennsylvania Department of the Auditor General; senior vice president of Penn Savings Bank; and vice president of operations for National Bank of Boyertown.
He was a 1962 graduate of Reading High School and earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Thomas A. Edison State College.
Services will be private. Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, Wernersville, handled arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Parkinson's Foundation or the Animal Rescue League.
