Joseph Cervera Obituary

Joseph William Cervera, 89, of Queensbury, New York, passed away on April 18, 2025, with his loving daughters by his side.

Born on September 17, 1935, in Albany, he was the son of the late Antonio and Antoinette (Della Rocco) Cervera.

He is predeceased by his brothers Frank, Carmen, and Neil Cervera; and his sisters, Camille Devine and Mary Nardiello.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary (Bowler) Cervera; his daughters, Mary-Jo (Edward) Weinberg of Heathsville, VA, and Celeste (Keith) Davidson of Glens Falls, NY. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Eric Weinberg and partner (Janett Woodill), Emily (Justin) Vose, Ryan (Kait) Davidson, Erin (Blake) Gauthier, and Colin Davidson and partner (Kylie Stice). Joe was also blessed with eleven great-grandchildren: Christopher and William Weinberg; Jacob, Elliott, Matilda, Oliver, and Theodore Vose; Leonie and Bryton Davidson; and Grant and Grace Gauthier. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Joe began his photography career at the Watervliet Arsenal. In the late 1950s, he moved north to Glens Falls and founded Cervera Studio. A generational photographer, he captured life's special moments for countless families and businesses, earning many awards for his work. With the advent of the Instamatic camera, Joe expanded his business by founding Adirondack Labs, offering film processing and photo printing.

Joe loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He was an avid golfer and a voracious reader. He also enjoyed cooking, fishing, traveling, horse racing, and playing the lottery. He adored his two Yorkshire Terriers, Shadow and Winston.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Joe's family on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Singleton Sullivan Potter Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury, NY.
