Joseph D. Cheatham

Joseph D. Cheatham, 69, of Dillsboro passed away at 7 a.m., Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Waters of Batesville. He was born in Salem, Indiana on September 30, 1955, the son of Joseph Cheatham and Dorothy Hankins Holton. Survivors include one son Kyle; four brothers Kenneth Wayne Cheatham of Dillsboro, Bob (Bonnie) Cheatham of Moores Hill, Jon (Jody) Holton of Milan, and Jason Cheatham of Portsmouth, Ohio; two sisters Shirley (Rick) Thomas of Waverly, Ohio and Brooke McAbee of Chillicothe, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Cheatham was a former employee of Texas Instruments and had done landscaping work in Indianapolis with his uncle. An automobile accident cut Joe's working career short, leaving him disabled. Joe loved to fish and collected die cast cars. Visitation for Joe will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 17 at 10 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Salem Cemetery in Cross Plains with Rev. Charles Miller officiating. Memorials may be given to the Salem Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
